A little bit about me....my name is Nicole Odell. I currently train in the San Francisco Bay Area, and I hold the NSCA-CPT nationally-accredited certification.
I first experienced the joy that can be found in movement through dance classes in high school and in college. I earned a B.A. in theatre from San Francisco State University, during which I took many movement, dance, and Pilates courses. Upon graduation, I moved to L.A. for a new adventure. I had always been active, but when I moved, I started working out more and more seriously...partly because I loved to, but also because if I was going to live in L.A. I figured I'd better step it up a notch. Exercising for the sake of sexy led to a lot of benefits that suddenly seemed much more important. I was stress free, and I suddenly felt great; I was vibrant, dynamic, and felt as though I lived more fully, just due to exercise. I found myself becoming passionate about what fitness was doing for me, and every time a friend or family member started becoming active, I felt this sense of vicarious pride and satisfaction as I watched them improve more and more (even though I had absolutely nothing to do with it). I soon decided that this would be a great career for me; heavier involvement in someone else's transformation would justify my basking in their glory. I chose the NSCA certification because of its widespread acceptance as one of the best certifications out there, and its notoriously difficult test. I passed and started training at a corporate gym chain, where I found out that my fellow personal trainers are some of the coolest people to hang out with (besides theatre people)! Eventually I decided to pursue my dreams in the place I loved the most, in and around the Bay Area. I am now spreading fitness love all over Northern California, and I'm looking forward to meeting you!
Other stuff that is less relevant: I love 1940's vintage clothing, hair, movies, and music; Cajun food; and I have continued my involvement in performance by teaching and performing improv and sketch comedy in the vibrant San Francisco comedy scene. I was also in Advanced Placement English in high school; no big deal.
